Collection Bins

Collection bins are not authorized without approval from The University of Alabama Student Center and may be required to go through an approval process with the SOURCE. Unauthorized collection bins will be properly disposed of.

Requirements

UA Departments or Student Groups who wish to place a donation box on The University of Alabama Student Center (UASC) grounds must have prior approval by a designated professional staff member of the UASC. Collection Bins can be placed on Student Center grounds in two week increments and cannot exceed a total exposure time of one month. All donation boxes will be placed in designated locations.

• A donation box request must be submitted to the University of Alabama Student Center at least 2 weeks in advance for review.
• You will need to submit a copy of the confirmation from whichever Department inside the University of Alabama Student Center you have chosen, giving you permission to place your box outside their departmental suite.

Guidelines and Limitations

The University of Alabama Student Center is not liable for the security and maintenance of the collection bins and any items that were donated. UASC reserves the following rights:

• Deny any request for donation boxes that conflict with the directives and mission of the University of Alabama Student Center and the University of Alabama, or that would result in damage or destruction to the grounds or facilities.
• Immediately remove any donation box that has not gone through the proper approval process or that has become damaged or is no longer in good aesthetic condition.
• Deny future requests from the group or department who were not responsible in the maintenance of their bin. This includes but is not limited to if a bin is not properly maintained and overflows or causes backup into main walkways.

Approved Locations for collection bins include: 

• Parent and Family Programs Office Suite Entrance 
• Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life Office Suite Entrance 
• Student Government Association Office Suite Entrance 
• Student Care and Well Being Food Pantry Entrance 
• Career Center Office Suite Entrance 
• Seal Door Entrance against wall opposite the Elevator (2 week Maximum) 
• Center for Service and Leadership Office Suite Entrance
